Go for a Westside Spin

NY – Sometimes the best way to see the world is on two wheels and when it comes to the West Side Drive of Manhattan, we can think of no better mode of transportation. Rent a bike at Bike and Roll at the Hudson and 72nd Street location and simply head south on the bike path.

1. The Frying Pan

1.  Along the way, stop by The Frying Pan , a boat turned bar/restaurant at Pier 66 at 26th Street.  The lightship Frying Pan, built in 1929, is living out its golden years as a floating dive bar.  From here, the view of the Hudson River with boats floating by is unbeatable—and being on a boat in the summertime is a delight!  So, sit back and quench your thirst with a bucket of six Coronas ($35) or just an ice tea and soak in the sun.

2. Continue to head south and explore the cobblestone streets of the Meatpacking district at 14th Street or head even further south to 10th Street to explore the quaint West Village.

3. The Boat Basin Cafe

3.  On your way back uptown, enjoy lunch or dinner at the Boat Basin Cafe , the Upper West Side’s unofficial summer BBQ HQ, full of grill smoke, music and more great views.   Here, you can feel like you’re on vacation any day of the week.
