LA – If you love Halloween and all that comes with it, have we got a disturbing suggestion for you: The Blumhouse of Horrors.
Explore a frightening tour through one of Los Angeles’s most haunted locations at the desolate and historic six-story Variety Arts Theatre in downtown LA, where The Blumhouse of Horrors premieres October 4 and runs through November 3. The event is the brainchild of film producer Jason Blum (“Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious”), who has pulled out all the stops and utilized his rich wealth of Hollywood resources, tapping experts from horror film production, storytelling, and movie set design, who have all cast their sinister touch on the historic Figueroa Street venue. But this creepy dwelling isn’t just filled with special effects and strobe lights. It actually has a haunted past. Word is that back in the 1930s the owner’s wife desperately wanted to be the magician’s assistant. After she was put in the vanishing box, she never came back. Since that day, the theater is thought to be possessed.
To calm your nerves when it’s all said and done, head across the street to the beautiful Morrocan-themed Figueroa Hotel, specifically to the candlelit poolside bar (open to the public) where you can scare up a relaxing mojito and drink in the details of your terrifying evening.
