NY – One of our absolute favorite outdoor spots in Manhattan, any time of year, is Bryant Park and winter transforms the beloved grounds into an exciting destination that’s more and more a hotspot for all ages.
During certain seasons of the year this beautiful little patch of tranquility spotlights stunning gardens, a lawn the length of a football field, a French classical style carousel, a games area (with a collection of lawn and tabletop games, as well as Ping Pong), an outdoor reading room and summer movie nights. And during the winter months there’s a whole different experience in store.
Let’s start with Citi Pond – the 170′ x 100′ ice rink, which, like most all events at Bryant Park, is free. However, if you don’t want to wait in lines, you can buy an on-site VIP FastPass admission ticket (for $28 you avoid the line, get a skate rental and bag check service). There are also Season Passes and Family rates available. Enjoy ice skating, skating shows and special events at Citi Pond and when you’re hungry, dine rink side under the heat lamps or in the indoor lounge at the pop-up restaurant/bar/lounge, Celsius for lunch, dinner or drinks 7 days a week until March 3.
After your last hot toddy, mosey on over to The Holiday Shops where you’ll find 100 mini-boutiques featuring fun gift ideas for adults, kids and even pets! To view a vendor map, click here . If it’s all not enough to keep you in a New York state of mind, mark your calendar now for the Winter Film Festival where you can watch classic movies on Monday nights while skating, sitting on one of the park’s iconic green chairs or even indoors at Celsius over dinner.
