NY – We see love, harmony, optimism and the makings of a great time in your future at this fun date night outing. It’s got all the ingredients. French bistro, check. Romantic table, check. Candlelit lighting, check. Tarot reading, check. Pie??
1. The French accents and old school nudes hanging on the walls at Raoul’s make you feel a bit like you’ve stepped back in time at this exotic, antique-laden bistro that’s got a strong history (dating back to the 70s) and a local following. To get to your quiet and romantic table, you’ll walk through the busy (and brightly lit) kitchen to a lovely back room where you’ll indulge on tuna tartare and steak au poivre to your heart’s content.
2. If you’re still curious if this date “is the one,” hold on tight (to the railings) and head up the treacherous spiral staircase to get your tarot cards read by Gilda (or whomever is in house that night). Readings are most weekends and somehow, always right on the money.
3. If you like what you learned in the tarot reading and want to keep the night going strong, walk across the street to The Dutch (kitchen is open until 1AM on weekends). Make a mental note to come back for brunch or lunch (or dinner if you’re up for comfort food). But for this particular evening, we recommend an after dinner drink (they keep an impressive collection of bourbons behind the bar) and homemade pie from their “pie-centric” menu, baked fresh every day.
All in all, the Wheel of Fortune indicates a great evening is your destiny.
